Cool housekeeper from an unnecessary switch

A programmer, administrator, programmer will always have a broken 8-port switch in stock, which can be adapted to the original key holder in just one hour.

If you are not one of them, look for a broken device among your friends and acquaintances. After all, buying a housekeeper is unreasonably expensive. We wrote in one of the articles that even the simplest housekeepers cost from $20 in Burgundy + shipping. It is very difficult to buy a good thing from us.

So, you will need: a switch, 1.5 meters of twisted pair, 8 key rings, 8 RJ-45 connectors.

First of all, remove the cover from the switch, remove the board and screw the case to a new place of residence.

Next, prepare the base for the key rings. Cut the cable into pieces 15-20 cm long and remove the wires from the sheath: throw out 2 wires, leave 2 (because when you bend the wire with the ring on, you will again get 4 ends).

We cut the tube-shell in half minus 1 cm (in order to see the ends of the wires). The result is 2 wires, 1 sheath, 1 connector and 1 ring. Put the ring on the wires and stuff both wires back into the sheath. Crimp with a connector.

Repeat the same thing 7 times and get 8 original key rings that you can put on the keys.

The key rings themselves will perfectly live in their native switch.

Firstly, the thing is really useful, because the keys have a unique property to get lost, and secondly, it's cool and practically free.
